In a quiet Southern town, a young woman discovers a collection of cursed VHS tapes that reveal her town's sinister past, entangling her in a ghostly mystery that threatens to bring the dead back into the living world.

Ellen
Lead Female 18-22
Ellen is a 21-year-old, bookish, responsible older-sibling archetype who works at her family’s VHS store while also juggling college studies. 
She is a skeptic, grounded in reality, and often at odds with her sister Roberta's adventurous pursuits. However, as the mysteries surrounding the ‘Southern Scares’ VHS tapes escalate, Ellen is forced to confront the supernatural forces threatening her and her loved ones.Her journey is one of reluctant belief, emotional growth, and sisterly loyalty.

Roberta
Lead Female 18-22
Roberta, Ellen’s 19-year old sister, is a lively and magnetic presence and serves as the on-screen host for the "Southern Scares" episodes. 
Her charm and passion for storytelling are evident in her role as a fearless documentarian of Southern folklore and supernatural phenomena. However, as the story progresses, her fate becomes entangled with the mysterious events surrounding the VHS tapes.
Her transformation from a vibrant visionary to a spectral, tragic figure underscores the emotional weight of the narrative, with her ghostly reappearances haunting Ellen and the others

Cameron
Supporting Male 18-25
Cameron is a confident, 20-something "boy-next-door" type who works as the camera operator for Southern Scares. He serves as Roberta’s collaborator, tech-savvy sidekick, occasional voice of reason, and love interest. 
His relationship with Roberta is layered with subtle affection and underlying tension, and his unresolved guilt over events in the series affects his decisions throughout the story.
